A YouTube star worth £15million has had his contract with Disney cancelled for reportedly posting videos featuring anti-Semitic comments online.

PewDiePie, real name is Felix Kjellberg, who lives in Brighton, is one of the world’s biggest YouTube stars with more than 53 million subscribers.

Disney’s Maker Studios cut ties with the vlogger, who reportedly makes $15 million (£12 million) a year from YouTube, after a Wall Street Journal investigation found videos he posted included “anti-Semitic jokes or Nazi Imagery”.

Maker Studios said in a statement: “Although Felix has created a following by being provocative and irreverent, he clearly went too far in this case and the resulting videos are inappropriate.

“Maker Studios has made the decision to end our affiliation with him going forward.”

One of the videos posted on PewDiePie’s page featured two men holding up a banner which said: “Death to all Jews.”

Defended the videos he said on his Tumblr page he “was trying to show how crazy the modern world is, specifically some of the services available online”.

But added: "Though this was not my intention, I understand that these jokes were ultimately offensive."
