ALL eyes will be on Rag ’n’ Bone Man when he collects his Critics’ Choice Award at the Brits tonight.

But the evening will also be special for Brighton designer Gresham Blake who has made two suits for the up-and-coming singer.

Real name Rory Graham, Rag ’n’ Bone Man, from Uckfield, will be wearing Blakes’ grey and gold suit when he goes on stage to collect his first Brit. Later he will wear a blue check suit at the after party.

Gresham, who has stores in Bond Street, Brighton, and east London, said he was more than happy to dress the singer.

He said: “It was great. I really enjoyed working with him.

“He is such a grounded guy – it just makes it fun.”

The designer and the 6ft 5ins singer were introduced by Rizzle Kicks rapper Jordan Stephens.

Gresham was his first choice for a bespoke suit on what is the biggest night in British music.

Gresham said: “His suit needed quite a lot of fabric, more than anyone else.

“The average suit uses around three metres of fabric, but with him I had to use six metres 20cm.

“It has motivated to me to put much larger size garments in my store, so there will be a small collection for larger people.”

Gresham, who launched his brand in Brighton in 2000, is no stranger to celebrities wearing his suits, with Ray Winstone, Steve Coogan and Norman Cook among his famous fans.

Last year, no less than six celebrities wore his suits to the Brit Awards.

Rag ’n’ Bone Man will be joined on the red carpet at the Brit Awards by his pregnant girlfriend who will be wearing a black and silver floral dress.

The 32-year-old singer attended Uckfield Community Technology College, before moving to Brighton in pursuit of a career in music.

He released his first hit single Human in July last year and later released his debut album, also titled Human, earlier this month. The album went straight to number one.

In December it was announced he would be receiving the Critics’ Choice Award.

The award is given by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), which represents record companies and artists in the UK.
