TWO accidents have caused severe delays to motorists on the county's roads this morning.

Police were to a crash on the A23 northbound near the Pyecombe, Hassocks and Clayton slip road, involving three cars and a van at just after 6am.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "No one was trapped or injured. The road was partially blocked by the incident, resulting in traffic being delayed.

"The scene was cleared shortly after 7am."

At around 6.20am, officers were called to a three car crash on the A23 northbound near its junction with the A27, just north of Brighton.

Again there were no injuries were reported but there were traffic tailbacks to the Mill Road roundabout.
