AN EXCLUSION zone has been set up after what is believed to be a mortar bomb has been found.
Sussex Police were called at just after 3pm on Thursday after a member of the public spotted a small rusty object which is believed to be a mortar bomb of World War II vintage.
It was found underneath some steps leading up from the car park at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove, to Kingsway.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The car park and southern pavement have been closed while military ordnance disposal attend and assess the item. There have been no road closures."
