VOLUNTEERS at Brighton Housing Trust’s homeless day centre and residential mental health support services have been recognised for their work.
The social work and occupational therapy team met Brighton Mayor Pete West for tea in the mayor’s parlour during Student Volunteering Week which runs until Sunday.
The day centre supports people who are sleeping rough or insecurely housed.
Nikki Homewood, director of services at BHT, said: “Having students on placement not only helps them broaden their knowledge and experience but their contribution and dedication to the essential work of BHT is invaluable.”
