A RUGBY fan is planning to row a distance the equivalent of a ferry crossing from Ireland to Wales to raise money for charity.
Dewi Richards from Brighton is taking on the rowing machine challenge in memory of his brother-in-law Pete Alner, who died from cancer last year.
The 54-year-old is an exercise therapist and trainer at Longhill sports centre in Rottingdean.
The machine will be set up in Cardiff city centre on the day of Wales’ Six Nations rugby match against Ireland.
Mr Richards, originally from Wales, will row 100km, the equivalent of the ferry route from Fishguard to Rosslare.
All money raised from the event on Friday will go to Marie Curie Hospice in Cardiff, which cared for Mr Alner.
