TW0 devastated dog owners are offering a £5,000 reward for the safe return of their missing dachshunds.

Douglas and Teressa Saunders have been desperately hunting for Elfie and Huxley since they disappeared during a walk at Hollingbury Park golf course in Brighton.

Despite extensive searches and appeals, the two dogs have not been spotted and their owners are growing increasingly concerned.

The dachshunds, aged four and two, had been let off their leads by a dog walker and ran to the top of the golf course before vanishing.

Mrs Saunders. 49, from Upper Dicker, near Hailsham, said: “Huxley likes to go down rabbit holes and just before Christmas he got trapped and disappeared for a week.

“In that case he eventually lost enough weight to get out and find his way home but that was near where we live.

“This time he is a lot further away and it has been a lot longer period of time –nearly two weeks.

“We are increasingly becoming concerned they may have been taken and this is why we are offering the reward.

“We just want to have them back home where they belong.”

The couple have called in the national rescue organisation K9Tracker and visited the area every day since the two dogs disappeared on February 22.

Both dogs have smooth coats with black and tan colouring.
