The first goal was always going to be crucial at Rotherham last night – and it arrived in instalments.

Anthony Knockaert fired his 12th of the season to put Albion ahead on 49 minutes.

They went on to cruise to a 2-0 success and and should have scored more goals in the last half hour.

Photographer Richard Parkes captured the action.

Beram Kayal tussled for the ball just inside the Rotherham half and then Knockaert took over to really set the move rolling.

Kayal was sent clear as Knockaert slid a lovely pass inside the otherwise excellent Rotherham right-sided centre-back, Semi Ajayi.

The Israeli was denied by Lewis Price as the Millers keeper dived at his feet.

Sam Baldock was on to the rebound but saw his shot blocked just in front of the line by defender Aimen Belaid.

The ball fell for Knockaert, whose finish was perhaps not as cleanly struck as it first appeared but did the job – and sparked celebrations among the 1,006 away fans behind the goal.
