A SOCIAL group which supports adults with Asperger’s and autism has secured £5,000 to improve its resources.
ASpire was awarded the funding by fellow Brighton organisation OneFamily through its Foundation Community Awards.
ASpire is a social group and mentoring project that helps improve the confidence of adults with autism. It holds fortnightly social activities across Brighton such as bowling, karaoke and bingo.
The £5,000 will allow ASpire to fund its hire room in Brighton, pay its specially trained staff and arrange more activities for members.
ASpire was nominated by Clair Farenden, a OneFamily customer who works at Brighton and Hove Impetus, the charity that hosts Aspire.
Jo Ivens, of Impetus said: “We’re all thrilled we’ve won this because it means we can fund key resources.”
