Having seen their debut album soar to the top of the UK charts in August last year, it's clear why these boys from Stockport are proving so popular. They are the epitome of what British indie-pop has become. Well manicured, polished, shampooed and conditioned musicians with a neat performance to match.

Even though none of their songs are particularly anthemic or pack a rock punch, a core of dozens of fans bounced along to each track inside the Brighton Dome. Among their supporters is Sussex's own Ben Thatcher of Royal Blood who watched on from the balcony. They might produce very different sounds, but both bands deal in the same currency – likeable and popular music.

At Most A Kiss and My Favourite Room filled the air with a familiar sound, but frontman Tom Ogden also showed versatility with a stripped-down acoustic routine which included a crowd-pleasing medley of some British cult classics.

With his four band mates so rigid, Ogden needs to compensate by bringing some energy to the stage. Yet, it's early days and if their second album goes straight to number one, some Gallagher-esque confidence is bound to pour out of him.
