Victor L Moore is a fantasy author from Eastbourne. He recently released his first book, the Pentacle of Northumbria. He is also a music teacher and puppeteer.

Where is your favourite place in Sussex?

It has got to be Eastbourne. I am originally from London so it is nice to be out of there and down south.

What do you love most about living in Sussex?

Basically it’s not London. So I’d say the sea and also there is less pollution. Down here the people have more time for you.

What advice do you have for your 12-year-old self?

Don’t go to the local religious grammar school. Lousy teachers...

What is your most valued possession?

I don’t have one and I never will.

What is your biggest regret?

Not going to university.

What is your biggest fear?

Donald Trump.

What is your proudest achievement?

My book, the Pentacle of Northumbria, being published.

It is the first part of a trilogy and is on sale now, including online. It tells of two young teens, Wally and Bessie, who get embroiled in a parallel world of dark and light Celtic sorcery. It forces the two to choose sides.

I’m now working on the follow up, The Sisterhood of The Dead.

I’m also working on another short story book for young children, with illustrator Ewart Shindler. It is called The Peculiar Adventures of Oily Gasbag and will be published in the summer.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

JRR Tolkien, Lewis Carroll, PG Wodehouse, Philip Pullman and Richmal Crompton.

Anything else?

Since arriving in Eastbourne I have formed a partnership with four other storytellers and puppeteers.

This group is called Moore Than Magick and our details can be found on the website moorethanmagick.com from April 3.

My own website can be found at victorlmoore.com. I will be at Waterstones in North Street, Brighton, on April 22 to tell stories with puppets.
