ENTREPRENEURS Sian and Dom Ritson have launched a new website for children.

SnapperTime is a kids website which sparks children’s creativity, encourages them to get active and gives parents ideas for simple activities that are easy and fun to do together.

After a decade of working in film promotions together they became experts in the field of ‘entertaining kids’ and engaging them through exciting design and with creative activities, especially in environments where they needed the likes of activity sheets and fun packs.

The pair - who live near Handcross and work out of an office in Old Shoreham Road, Hove - were inspired to create SnapperTime after their own children fell into the obsession of ’screen face’ the easy trap of TV and computer games.

They had the idea of using it as a way to encourage themselves as a family to do something creative or physical whilst learning new skills.

SnapperTime is full of fun challenges all categorised into themes - arty, science, outdoors, superhero, cooking -and clearly marked with a difficulty rating so that families know what they’re taking on.

What’s more, to really excite children’s interest, every time they complete a challenge they’re rewarded with a super shiny digital DoodleCoin which, when a few are collected, can be exchanged for a ‘reward’.

Mr Ritson said: “Worrying about kids and their screen time is nothing new.

“When we were young our parents all worried about the amount of time we spent watching television.

“In response there were TV programmes like Why Don’t You..? which encouraged us to get out and do something different.

“We see SnapperTime as being like that.

“Seeing and watching other children being creative is inspiring so that is what SnapperTime is all about.

“We also know that kids love collecting rewards so we’ve created Doodlecoins as an extra incentive for completing challenges.

“We wanted to ensure that the Doodlecoins have value for the whole family so we’ve teamed up with leading brands, so that parents can choose ‘rewards’ which best suit their household.”

SnapperTime rewards will change regularly, offering everything from shiny new welly boots, outdoor gear and seed balls for the garden, to family games, hotel breaks and even adventure holidays!

Snappertime are also working with other local business such as The Outdoors Project who encourage children to make the most of the fantastic Sussex countryside.

They are keen to broaden their partnerships and hear from other Sussex based organisations that have a quality offer for a family audience.

SnapperTime is completely free to join and the first 500 to register will receive a limited edition SnapperTime VIP Pack in the post complete with a reward chart and magnet for the fridge.
