A CRASH involving a lorry and a motorbike has caused a major commuter route to be closed for several hours from evening rush hour.
Emergency services are dealing with the serious collision which took place on the A27 at Polegate, near the junction with Folkington Lane at 5.10pm.
The motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries.
The road is closed in both directions between Drusillas roundabout and the Polegate cross roads.
Police have warned that the closure at the Drusillas roundabout is likely to last several hours.
