A MOTORCYCLIST who died after crashing into a horse box has been named.
Jacob Packham, 23, from Pelham Place, Seaford, sustained multiple injuries when his bike was in collision with a Land Rover Defender towing a horsebox.
It happened in Station Road, Berwick, at around 12.15pm on Sunday March 19, near the entrance to Arlington Reservoir.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where passed away early on Thursday aftemoon, March 23.
The 58-year-old man from Berwick who was driving the Land Rover sustained minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.
Police are continuing to seek witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw either of the two vehicles involved shortly before the collision.
In particular, officers are keen to speak to the occupants of a dark-coloured people carrier which was seen to pass over the level crossing at Berwick railway station moments before the motorcyclist.
