Gaetan Bong has urged Albion and their fans to have fun in the run-in – and make his Premier League prediction come true.

The fit-again left-back has revealed he received “strange looks” when he signed in the summer of 2015 and immediately spoke about going up.

Promotion technically remains a maximum of 13 points away after Huddersfield swept aside Norwich 3-0 last night.

But, barring a freak swing in terms of goal difference, Albion know 12 points from the last 18 will take them up even if Huddersfield and Newcastle go on unstoppable runs.

Newcastle are back on top after beating Burton 1-0.

The popular Bong is delighted to be involved again after missing three months with a niggling knee problem.

He told fans: “We need to win games and enjoy these games and see what happens.

“That’s the most important. We have six games left and we need to enjoy it – and the fans need to enjoy it too. We need to be all together like one big family doing things. Let’s do it together.”

Bong made his return in the 3-1 win over Birmingham on Tuesday and hopes to take another step towards promotion at QPR tomorrow.

He added: “When I came here I said I wanted to bring the team into the Premier League.

“I said it the first day I signed and everybody looked at me strange.

“I said, ‘No, I came for this’. I had this ambition and everyone sees this season and last season the ambition is there.”
