Glenn Murray savoured a 21st goal of the season – and the end of a perfect week.

Murray put the Seagulls ahead for what could be a crucial 2-1 win at QPR tonight.

Sebastien Pocognoli’s free-kick secured Albion’s first success at Loftus Road for almost 60 years.

It was the Seagulls' third win in seven days in the quest for Premier League football.

Murray, who scored the opening goal in all three, said: “It was the end of a big week. Three wins, nine points. It was just what the doctor ordered and we have produced it.”

Both Murray and Tomer Hemed had goals ruled out for narrow offside calls before the break.

Murrray said: “We knocked on the door in the first half.

“We put some good quality crosses in there and got in some good positions.

“I think we sowed the seed in the first half and thankfully we broke through in the second half.”

Murray combined perfectly with Hemed before going clear to score and agreed he had plenty of time to think about the finish.

He added: “Luckily the keeper went the wrong way.

“It was a bit too long I think! But thankfully it ended up in the back of the net.

“That gave us the platform to get the second, Poco’s fantastic strike, and then we wavered a little bit, let one in – but we stayed strong.

“We rode the onslaught of QPR. The whole ground was really geed up at ine stage and we weathered that.”
