KEEN young boxers are being offered the chance to progress to the next level at The Met.

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College – formerly City College – is running an advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence boxing course.

The course, which is now in its seventh year, allows teenagers aged 16 to 19 to progress their talents whilst also studying towards a Level 3 BTEC diploma.

Trials are being held on Saturday at the campus in Wilson Avenue. It will consist of technical partner pad work and be assessed by head coach Adam Haniver.

Adam is a qualified teacher and coach and also works as an England national talent pathway coach and coach educator for England Boxing.

The Greater Brighton Metropolitan College Boxing Academy provides students with the opportunity to train throughout the week at a local boxing club gym.

This is under the supervision and guidance of experienced and highly qualified coaches.
