ALBION have had a pretty tasty season and now some Sussex firms are helping to give Seagulls supporters a real flavour of success.

Harvey’s will make Albion fans hoppy with the release of a specially brewed Albion Ale while The Grand hotel has produced the perfect cocktail to toast the club’s achievement.

And supporters feeling chipper after Premier League promotion can now enjoy an Albion coloured condiment from Belgian chip shop BeFries.

The food and drink has been prepared in advance of the seafront parade this Sunday with thousands of fans set to attend.

Fans are being urged to get into the city nice and early in preparation for the parade leaving Madeira Drive at 5pm and arriving at Hove Lawns for around 6.30pm with rolling road closures in place from 2pm to 9pm.

There will be more reason to celebrate on Thursday afternoon when chairman Tony Bloom and manager Chris Hughton will be made honorary freeman at a special ceremony at Brighton Town Hall. They will follow in the footsteps of life president Dick Knight who received the honour in November 2013.

The limited edition of 1,901 bottles of promotion Albion Ale – numbered for the year the club was founded – will be available from Sunday.

Half the allocation will go to the club with the rest available to buy from Harvey’s shop in Cliffe High Street, Lewes, and online at £29.52 for 12 bottles with all profits going to Albion in the Community.

Harvey’s started producing Albion Ale in 2011 to mark the club’s move to the Amex. The beer has been stocked at the stadium for the past four years selling 5,500 every matchday.

Digital media manager Marie King said: “The special edition is four per cent which is a slightly higher than the current beer at 3.6 per cent but it is based on the same product.”

The Grand’s Brighton and Hove Albion cocktail, created by George Kiamili from The Victoria Bar, includes Brighton Gin, Archers Blue Curacao, lime juice, apple juice, vanilla syrup and lemonade and will set back fans £10.

The seafront hotel is extending its happy hour, where selected cocktails are £5, by 60 minutes on Sunday to 8pm to celebrate the parade.

Award-winning Belgian chip shop BeFries created a new blue and white mayonnaise to mark Albion’s promotion to the Premier League.

The limited edition Albion-aise sauce will be launched on Sunday at the firm’s West Street restaurant, which opened in July.

Dash Beevers, of Befries, said: “As a long-standing resident of the city I have experienced the ups and the downs of the Albion in the last 20-plus years.

“Now they are in the top flight, it’s only right that the whole city comes together to thank everyone at The Amex for doing their bit.”
