Campaigners are hoping to send messages of love and support to Manchester in the wake of Monday night's terrorist attack.
Attendees to tonight's vigil outside Brighton Town Hall are being encouraged to bring homemade heart-shaped placards featuring supportive messages.
Labour Councillor Emma Daniel said the messages would be posted to her party colleague Andy Burnham, the newly elected mayor of Greater Manchester.
Cllr Daniel will speak at the We Stand Together Rally along with Green co-leader Caroline Lucas, Richard Williams of Sanctuary on Sea, Elaine Ortiz of The Hummingbird Project and Manchester TUC president Alex Davidson.
The event will be held in Bartholomew Square from 6.30pm followed by a vigil held at St Lukes church with Rev Martin Poole from 8pm.
