PRE-SCHOOLERS enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic at Brighton city centre primary school St Paul’s to mark the 20th anniversary of its nursery.

The youngsters and former pupils came together with their bears yesterday to celebrate an anniversary which is particularly significant due to the number of pre-school closures in the city.

All those involved had an outdoor lunch and the celebrations were enjoyed by all.

Linda Dupret, head eacher of St Paul’s, said: “Since our nursery opened its doors in 1997, it has supported 500 local children aged between three and four, developing their natural curiosity through play and providing a firm foundation for future learning.

“This happy occasion allows us to celebrate the achievements of all the wonderful pupils who have passed through St Paul’s Nursery over the past two decades.

“We look forward to welcoming many more – starting from September.”

The nursery, which is run by a fully qualified, experienced teacher and a nursery nurse, offers 25 places for children to attend 15 hours a week, spread over five mornings.

Children start their first term at St Paul’s Nursery once they are three and there are places still available for next term.
