SUPERMODEL Jodie Kidd is to add a touch of glamour to a country pub as she takes over as landlady.

The 38-year-old, better known for dazzling on the catwalk, will soon be behind the bar of The Half Moon in Kidford, near Billingshurst, after buying the venue.

Although born in Guildford, Surrey, Kidd went to school near Petworth and has lived in Sussex for much of her life.

She married her first husband, internet entrepreneur Aidan Butler, in September 2005 at St Peter’s Church, Twineham.

She quit the world of fashion having suffering panic attacks and it now appears Kidd wants to spend more time in the country following her purchase of the Grade II listed pub.

She said she wanted there to be a focus on quality food with dishes influenced by her travels.

She added that the pub’s garden would be the kitchen’s “inspiration” with a focus on local suppliers and produce.

Paul Welburn, who was runner up on the BBC’s Great British Menu, has been brought in to run the kitchen with Kidd promising the food will be “exquisite”.

She said: “Our wish is to establish a home from home, somewhere vibrant, welcoming and charming where guests can enjoy exceptional British produce with international flavours inspired by my travels.

“Our food ethos will be seasonal British produce enhanced with international flavours.

“ Our garden will be our inspiration, supported by local suppliers and produce.

“Our team is busy preparing for our official opening in June so keep an eye out for updates and pictures so that you can see our journey. We look forward to welcoming you.”

Since taking over, Kidd has already brought in graphic designers to give the pub’s logo a contemporary feel.

The pub also has a new stylish website.

Since her modelling days, Kidd has focused her energy on sporting and charity challenges.

In 2015 she competed in Channel 4’s winter sports competition The Jump and last year she was part of cycling challenge Tour de Celeb.

She has been married twice. She split from Mr Butler in 2007 before entering a relationship with Argentinian polo player Andrea Vianini.

The couple split in the summer of 2013 and she subsequently married David Blakeley, a former British Army captain and author in August 2014.

They split in January of the following year and the divorce was fast tracked through court in May 2015.

She has a son, Indio, with polo player Mr Vianini.
