A motorcyclist has died after crashing with a car.

Police were called shortly after 3.45 pm on Friday to the A267 at Argos Hill, near Rotherfield outside Crowborough, after reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

A silver Peugeot 307 estate car and a blue-and-white Suzuki motorcycle crashed opposite the road's junction with Yew Tree Lane.

Sadly the motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Heathfield, sustained fatal injuries.

The Peugeot driver, an 81-year-old man, escaped unhurt. His passenger, an 80-year-old woman, was also uninjured in the crash.

Sussex Police are now asking anyone who saw the collision, or noticed either the motorbike or car being driven shortly beforehand, to contact them by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Lacey.
