A GRIEVING mother is hoping she can raise funds to pay for her son’s funeral after he died in a freak accident.

Aron Duplock, 25, from Brighton, leaves two children, aged four and 18 months.

His family believes he suffered a heart attack caused by electrocution.

He plugged in a computer at his stepbrother’s house in Hangleton, which is thought to have been the cause of the shock.

The post-mortem results have not yet been released.

A JustGiving page has now been set up to raise money for the £4,500 funeral costs.

His mother Viv Slark, 45, said of her son: “He was so cheeky and fun-loving.

“If ever someone was a bit down he wanted to try and make them laugh just to make their day better.”

Aron went to King’s Manor High School (now Shoreham Academy) where he was a prefect and would help the younger pupils.

Aron joined the Army aged 17, going to the training centre in Dyke Road, Hove, but injured himself in the six-week training period and was dismissed.

Mrs Slark was cooking a barbecue when she found out about Aron’s death and said her “world fell apart” when she heard the news.

She said: “I wouldn’t want anyone to feel this pain.

“My heart goes out to anyone who has lost their child, the pain is absolutely horrendous.”

The costs of the funeral include flowers and the service.

Mrs Slark, who lives in Shoreham, said it would mena a lot to her to raise the money.

She said: “It means I would be able to give my son the send-off he deserves.

“The day is all about him and I want him to be able to look down on me and say, ‘thanks for giving me a massive send-off mum’.

“All of Aron’s friends are welcome to come and pay their respects and be part of the send-off.

“But so many things have to be paid for up front and you just don’t realise how expensive it is.”

Aron worked as a security guard at railway stations around Sussex.

This is where he met his fiancée, Riana Gretton, 20, who set up the JustGiving page.

She said: “It was definitely love at first sight, we clicked in so many ways.

“I just didn’t believe it when I found out what happened.

“His stepbrother Paul rang me and told me how him and his girlfriend gave Aron CPR until the paramedics arrived.

“It would mean the world to us if we could reach the amount we need.

“I always say to myself that every little helps and it all adds up in the end.

“Aron’s family have been very supportive as well as my own family and all of our friends.

“I am just thinking of his kids.”

Tributes have flooded in for Aron on the JustGiving page with people recalling memories of him and paying their respects to his family.

So far £416 has been raised.

The funeral will be at 10am on July 6 at Woodvale Crematorium.

Mrs Slark has booked a minibus for people who want to go.
