YOUNG patients can now enjoy a colourful sight when they visit hospital.
A talented group of A-level art and design students from Sussex Downs College in Lewes have created a vibrant under-the-sea mural at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.
The team was commissioned by Rockinghorse, the hospital’s official fundraising arm, to carry out the work on the medical ward.
It took almost three weeks to finish the mural, which features a rich variety of creatures including colourful fishes, an octopus and a mermaid.
It also has a treasure chest of gold coins referencing Rockinghorse’s 50th anniversary, which has been created to help young patients feel less stressful during their time on the Alex’s medical ward.
