Petra Kvitova has pulled out of the Aegon International at Eastbourne with an abdominal injury.

The Czech ace travelled down to Devonshire Park after winning the Aegon Classic in Birmingham yesterday, but she has withdrawn from the Sussex showpiece.

Kviotova's victory in Birmingham was her second tournament since a career-threatening hand injury, sustained when she was stabbed by an intruder at her home in December.

The 27-year-old two-time Wimbledon champion pulled out of Eastbourne in 2014 at the quarter-final stage due to injury and in 2015 through illness.
