Crawley top scorer James Collins is on his way to Luton Town.

The Argus understands the 22-goal hitman will depart tomorrow for a fee of £250,000.

It will be Reds’ biggest sale since 2012, when they sold Tyrone Barnett and Matt Tubbs to Peterborough for a combined fee of about £800,000.

The development will be unpopular with Reds fans but the club are not in a position to turn down sizeable offers.

Coventry City, who are Collins’ local club, were also keen on his services.

Reds return to work on Thursday as new boss Harry Kewell takes charge.
