Simon Parker is a musician and co-founder of Vinyl Revolution, Brighton’s newest record shop, and former promoter of Cable Club events company in the city.

What is your favourite place in Sussex?

I’m torn between the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill and Basketmakers pub in Gloucester Road, Brighton.

What do you love most about living in Sussex?

Great bands and damn fine drinking establishments.

What advice do you have for your 12-year-old self?

Maybe don’t eat all that Space Dust.

What is your most valued possession?

My record collection. I’ve been buying records since 1979. Turns out it was a very good year for seven-inch singles.

What is your biggest regret?

The moment the power went out before my band’s record industry showcase gig.

What is your biggest fear?

Waking up to find that all my teeth really have fallen out.

What is your proudest achievement?

It may sound obvious but Vinyl Revolution opening in Brighton is the biggest moment of my life.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Robert Smith

Oliver Reed

Shane Macgowan

John Lydon

Debbie Harry

Carnage assured with these guests.

Anything else?

Good luck in the premiership Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
