A SHOPPING street is due to be brightened up.
A campaign to add colour to Boundary Road in Hove is progressing with delivery of 16 planters expected soon.
It follows a fundraising campaign with businesses who have raised some £4,500 to pay for the planters from Mayberry Garden Centre with the council’s City Parks team providing soil.
Conservative Councillor Robert Nemeth, who has been heavily involved in the project, praised residents Karen Young and Patsy Perrousset, who died before the project was completed, for their efforts in bringing greenery and colour to the shopping street. He said: “We therefore set out to research the options and ultimately raise some cash for some sort of planting scheme.”
Three other planters have been installed around the junction with New Church Road.
