CONCERNS have grown over the whereabouts of a man who went missing yesterday afternoon.

He was last seen in his usual spot outside Honey’s Food Bar near to the Hollingbury Asda in Brighton when he was kidnapped and taken away in a truck, not to be seen since.

He is described as 6ft tall, white all over and with a constant, serious expression on his face and a hard surface. He has only one finger on his left hand.

He was wearing a hat, sunglasses, checked shirt and shorts and a pair of Simpsons socks when he was last seen but may have changed clothing since.

Kim Coghlan, who runs Honey’s Food Bar, was left stunned when her distinctive mannequin was stolen from under her nose.

The model, always decked out in different clothes, has been a popular talking point for staff and customers at the roadside food bar in Crowhurst Road, Hollingbury ever since she opened three years ago.

But Kim, 51, was left shocked and upset when someone pointed out yesterday afternoon they had seen someone drive off with it.

She said: “I didn’t even notice anyone take him.

“We were really busy. I was out at the front of the counter dressed up for Arabian dancing to raise money for charity while my daughter and a friend were working behind the counter.

“Then suddenly a man said he had seen someone carrying off the mannequin.

“Apparently they arrived in a pick-up and took him and then came back for the stand he was on .

“They then drove off and that was that.

“None of us saw at all.

“We must have been looking the other way or people were blocking the view.

“I cannot imagine how on earth it was able to happen while we were all here.

“I was amazed and upset and I really want him back.

“He has become a real talking point and people are always asking me about what he is wearing each day.

“They are really going to miss him.

“I just can’t believe it and I’ve been talking about it all day.”

Kim bought the mannequin from a shop in Lewes Road and set him outside the food bar to help catch people’s attention when she opened up in 2014.

He wears different outfits each day to coincide with the weather, charity event or holiday or celebration like Christmas, Halloween or Easter.

Kim has now posted details of her ‘missing person’ on Facebook and asking people to keep an eye out for him.

She decided not to bother Sussex Police about the incident, which happened some time before 1.10pm yesterday,

However she is hoping the community can rally round and help track him down as quickly as possible.

Kim said: “On his left hand he only has one finger so hopefully people will be able to spot that.

“He’s quite distinctive.

“I just really, really hope he can be found so we can bring him back to where he belongs.”

Kim is offering a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea as a reward for anyone who manages to bring the mannequin back.
