THE TRANSGENDER community is preparing to celebrate Trans Pride Brighton.
The fifth annual event will take place on Saturday July 22 in Brunswick Square.
Revellers can expect a march at midday before the main event in Brunswick Square including music, spoken word and poetry from 1pm to 6pm.
An official party will then follow at the North Laine Brewhouse in Gloucester Place for a long night of fun from 9.30pm.
There will also be a whole host of events in the run up Trans Pride, including the Annual Brighton Trans and Non-Binary Conference. The conference brings trans and non-binary people, researchers and allies together to work towards making a more inclusive society.
Among the keynote speakers is food writer and journalist Jack Monroe.
A registered charity run solely by volunteers, Trans Pride aims to inspire trans people to celebrate gender diversity.
