TEENAGE girls screamed their hearts out as pop star Olly Murs walked on stage at his Hove concert.

The X Factor star performed to thousands at his 1st Central County Ground gig as part of his UK tour.

Queues of adoring fans stretched around the block to ensure they bagged a prime spot to see the Brit nominated crooner.

The crowd roared as Murs came on stage, delighting the crowd with his repertoire of hit songs.

Also supporting was 2015 X Factor winner Louisa Johnson

She came on to the stage in flared jeans and a big pink hoody.

Then the crowd and those watching for free from the balconies of flats around Hove, were all warmed up for the star of the show.

Olly, who has landed four UK number one singles, was in town on his 24 Hrs tour, after playing concerts across Europe and Asia.

24 Hrs is his fourth consecutive album to reach number one in the charts since he finished runner-up to Joe McElderry in season six of The X Factor.

Incidentally McElderry was also performing in the city at the Theatre Royal last night.

Michelle Tomkin, 45, from Newhaven, was at the show with her two daughters.

She said: “I like most of his songs. He is a showman a bit like Robbie Williams.

“He has come a long way since X Factor.”

Grace Thomas, 21, came down to the coast with her friend from Crawley.

She said: “He is quite nice looking. We have been on every live tour of his.

“And I was looking forward to the fact it is outside as it is a different atmosphere and he is funny. “

Last night she said Olly’s hit Dear Darling was her favourite.

Nikki Garret, 23, came down from Borough, London.

She said: “This is my first time seeing him and I’ve heard really good things.

“He likes to put on a good show for fans and we couldn’t wait for him to get on stage tonight.”
