TORRENTIAL rain has hit Sussex, with firefighters responding to reports of flooding in Brighton and Hove.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue said they recieved 57 calls to flooding across the Brighton and Hove area, the first of which was received at 01:10.
These incidents were dealt with by crews from Preston Circus, Hove, Roedean, Barcombe, Herstmonceux and Shoreham.
The Met Office predicted the region could see lightning after temperatures hit 25C.
