A BEAUTY queen has her sights set on winning another title as she prepares to compete in a national pageant final.

Lucie Richardson won the Miss Publicity crown in last year’s Miss Brighton competition before competing in the Miss Galaxy UK contest in March.

Ms Richardson, a zumba instructor, from Brighton, has now been selected to represent Portsmouth as a finalist in this year’s Miss Great Britain contest.

The 27-year-old said: “I have had a lot of things happening in my life over the last few years or so and I have learnt a lot about myself, the mental issues I have had and life in general.

“I think people need a role model who has been through it so that they can see others have come through it all.”

Ms Richardson will be holding charity events before the final, raising money for mental health charity LAMP and Globals Make Some Noise, an organisation supporting families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

Sponsoring her for the contest will be health and fitness studio The Circle in Portslade and women’s shapewear brand Bomboutique UK.

She is also planning a zumba club night at Brighton’s Revolution next month and is organising a zumba flashmob.

The Miss Great Britain beauty pageant will take place at Athena in Leicester on September 15.
