A MANHUNT has been launched after a teenager was left fighting for his life in a stabbing incident.

The 18-year-old victim was attacked outside KFC in London Road Brighton at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

Police have warned the public not to approach 18-year-old Jordan Ash who is wanted in connection with the attack. Anyone who sees him should dial 999.

The victim was last night still being treated at King’s College Hospital in London for serious injuries. He was transferred from the Royal Sussex County Hospital on Saturday night.

The teenager’s brother said: “My brother is fighting for his life.”

Detectives described the violent attack as “deliberately targeted”. A second 18-year-old from Portslade also suffered minor cuts and bruises.

Police scenes of crime officers were yesterday searching bins behind the fast food restaurant for the weapon.

Sussex Police said a knife had been recovered and was being examined to see if it was the one used in the attack.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a knife and a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis. Both are from Brighton and were arrested at the scene.

Jordan Ash is 5ft 9in, slim, with brown hair and eyes.

Police are appealing for anyone who has mobile phone footage of the incident to contact them.

Mohammed Haque, who works in Wine Me Up opposite KFC said: “I have been here a long time and things had seemed better recently.

“It’s just outside KFC that there seems to be problems.

“I’m the only place open late so I do worry about being on my own sometimes but there hasn’t been any trouble recently.”

Staff at Costa coffee said their windows were smashed last month.

The most recent crime data shows there were 68 crimes reported in London Road between January and April this year, including 13 violent or sexual offences.
