A TEENAGER is still on the run from police following a stabbing which left a man fighting for his life.

Jordan Ash is wanted in connection with the attacked on an 18-year-old outside KFC in London Road, Brighton, on Saturday night.

At the time of going to press his whereabouts was still unknown.

Police have warned the public not to approach the 18-year-old and instead call 999.

Meshash McKenzie, a 23-year-old sales assistant who lives in Bolney Road, Brighton, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court yesterday in connection with the stabbing.

They were sent to Lewes Crown Court for a joint trial starting on August 21.

Both are accused of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.

Mr McKenzie is also charged with possession of cannabis.

Two groups were involved in the fight that took place outside the KFC restaurant.

McKenzie will be remanded in custody until the trial.

The 15-year-old, also from Brighton, appeared in court wearing a blue Nike shirt and tracksuit bottoms with a cast on his left forearm.

His mother was present.

The court heard the change was too serious to be dealt with at youth court.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges of grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.

The boy will be placed in local authority accommodation until trial, and is not allowed to enter Brighton or Hove unless accompanied by a parent, and only on medical grounds.

The two victims, Dennis Thomas-Simpson and Jordan Jillians, are both 18.

Mr Thomas-Simpson was stabbed in the stomach and treated at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, but later flown to London’s Kings College in a serious condition.

His brother told The Argus he is “fighting for his life”.

Mr Jillians suffered minor cuts and bruising to his arm during the incident.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “There are no further updates on the victim’s condition, and no more arrests have been made at present.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 999 quoting serial 1363 of July 22.

Ash is white, 5ft 9in, of slim build, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.
