THE UK’s largest stem cell banking and processing company has welcomed five student midwives from Brighton University to its premises in Burgess Hill as part of Cord Blood Awareness Month.

The midwives spent the day touring the Cells4life laboratories discovering more about the growing list of benefits and the significant impact that storing stem cells at birth can have on families throughout the world.

Cells4life has provided umbilical cord blood stem cells for the treatment of conditions such as autism and cerebral palsy.

Earlier this month the company shipped the UK’s first sample to the US for pioneering treatment at Duke University, North Carolina, to help treat a child’s autism symptoms.
