MASKED men turned up at a pub last night and beat a customer with baseball bats.
The group of three turned up at the Burgess Hill Inn at around 10.15pm and attacked a customer outside, police said.
The 32-year-old man from the town was taken from the Keymer Road pub to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton to be treated for head and leg injuries.
A Sussex Police spokesman said he was later discharged.
Officers cordoned off the pub and were still on the scene this morning with forensics teams collecting evidence.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information should call police on 101 quoting 1486 of 03/08.
