AN £8 million project to transform urgent care at a hospital is now complete.
The final stage of the work was the refurbishment and upgrade of the urgent treatment centre at Crawley Hospital.
There is now a larger, modern, adult waiting area and an open plan reception desk to improve communication.
Separate waiting areas are now available for young children and for teenagers, to give greater privacy and a baby changing room has been set up in the children’s waiting area.
The centre, run by the Sussex Community NHS Trust, is a 24 hour walk-in service, open every day.
It treats injuries or illnesses which are urgent but not life threatening.
This includes chest infections, sprains and strains, broken bones, minor burns and scalds, minor head and eye injuries and bites and stings.
