TWO talented sisters have landed plum roles in the West End and Hollywood.

Lauren and Josie Sayers, from Brighton, were snapped up for a high-profile theatre show and film respectively just days after joining a local acting agency.

Lauren, 12, is currently performing in The Wind in the Willows at the London Palladium, which was written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

And it didn’t take long for Josie, 10, to follow in her sister’s footsteps as she was cast in Ridley Scott’s Hollywood film All the Money in the World, starring Kevin Spacey, Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg.

Lauren said she had fulfilled her “life dream” of acting on the West End.

She said: “I love waking up and realising it is a show day and I can’t wait to get onto the stage.”

Lauren has played numerous roles in productions around Sussex but she said Wind in the Willows was by far her biggest role to date.

In the show, an adaptation of the much-loved children’s book, she plays a rabbit, a mouse and a hedgehog. She said she was relaxed in the audition.

“I felt like it went well because I could do all of the things they asked me to do. I had a good feeling about it.”

Lauren and Josie have been taken to a number of West End shows by mother Pip.

Lauren’s dream role would be to play Roald Dahl’s brainbox character Matilda.

She said: “I’ve got to the last five or ten in auditions [for Matilda] but never quite got it. Hopefully one day.”

The older sister said that she and Josie often help each in preparing for their respective roles.

Josie, meanwhile, has been in Italy filming All the Money in the World, which is scheduled for release next year.

She said she “couldn’t believe” that she had got the part.

“I was so excited when I heard. Going to Italy was amazing and meeting Michelle Williams was the best bit.”

The sisters’ story began when they were selected to join the The Young Actors Group Agency in Brighton after successful auditions.

The agency is run by Jane Murray-Watson and Louise Difford with the aim of providing opportunities for aspiring actors.

They said: “We’ve both only ever worked in the entertainment industry so have a varied knowledge bank between us.

“We’re both mothers to three children each, so all of this puts us in a great position to impart that knowledge with the love and respect that children deserve.”
