TWO men have died after the car they were travelling in left a road and hit a tree.
The driver, a 33-year-old man from Lewes, and his passenger, who police have yet to release details of, were killed in a crash at Coopers Green, Uckfield, on Saturday night.
The Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance was called but the pair were pronounced dead at the scene.
The black BMW was travelling northwards on Coopers Green Road just before 11pm when the accident happened.
The two men have not been formally identified.
Sergeant Richard Hornsey said: "Tragically this collision has resulted in the loss of two lives.
"We are trying to establish the circumstances of how the car came to leave the road and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision."
Witnesses or anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the crash is asked to contact Sussex Police on collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting Operation Annescroft.
