TOO many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth, or so the phrase goes.

But seven leading chefs will put that to the test by cooking under one very fancy roof – Brighton’s Grand hotel – for charity.

Chefs from award-winning restaurants including 64 Degrees will be making guests dinner in aid of the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

The unique format of Brighton Chef’s Table will see 140 guests discovering which Brighton restaurant they will be experiencing on the night.

Cooking up a storm will be GB1’s Alan White, Etch’s Steven Edwards, 64 Degree’s Michael Bremner, Chilli Pickle’s Alun Sperring, The Set’s Dan Kenny, Hotel Du Vin Bistro’s sous chef Mauro Loffredo and Drake’s Andy Vitez.

Each restaurant’s chef and waiting team will be responsible for two tables and will prepare and cook a signature meal as well as provide meticulous service to reflect their style.

Michael Bremner, head chef and owner of 64 Degrees, said: “Being a local charity, Rockinghorse is something we’re really happy to get behind and we’ve always been keen to help out when we can.”

The night is expected to showcase the city’s gastronomic buzz as well raise lots of money with a ten-person table costing £850.

Andrew Mosley, general manager at The Grand, said: “We champion supporting our local community and it’s always humbling to see the city come together for a great cause.

“Brighton’s food scene is vibrant, creative and diverse so we are excited to bring together some of the best culinary talent we have to offer for an evening that promises to tantalise taste buds and deliver a dining experience to remember.”

Rockinghorse, the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Analiese Doctrove, head of fundraising at Rockinghorse, said: “We continue to be overwhelmed by the support of the community in helping us to raise £500,000 for our appeal Sussex giving for Sussex Children.

“We are delighted to be The Grand’s chosen charity to benefit from this wonderful event and extend our thanks to the key restaurants from the city that will be there on the night.”
