TRIBUTES have been paid to a "funny and loving" teenager killed in a car crash.

Fraser Hallam, 19, of Pulborough was killed and his friend - named on social media as Jez Clee, of Billingshurst, seriously injured in a crash in Five Oaks on Saturday night.

Fraser left behind a twin brother Cameron and parents Andy and Wendy.

Friends have been sharing pictures with Fraser and tributes to him online as police look for the driver of a dark coloured car who may have seen the green Ford Focus that Fraser and his friends were travelling shortly before the crash.

Jack Sanders who had been friends with Fraser since their first day at primary school said: "His loss can't be replaced, it's simply a hole inside of us that won't be forgotten. Nobody deserves this. Nobody. It's a cruel, twisted world. "Fraser was special. I feel honoured to have been friends with him.

"When I try to think about what I'm feeling, when I try to imagine the pain that Fraser's family must be feeling, words can't describe. Especially for Cameron, to lose a twin.

The nearest I can get to describing the feeling is emptiness. I feel like the lack of feeling, the raw, cold, empty feeling in your stomach is the closest that words can do justice.

"Fraser was such a kind, generous, selfless, warm and friendly person."

Fraser's friend Kane Lewis, who shared the picture with his friend, said: "R.I.P to one of my best mates Fraser Hallam.

"You were one of the funniest and loving person I have met. You always tried your best to make everyone around you happy and you done a great job doing so! So you keep on smiling up there mate! Not a day will go by where I don't think about you mate, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family.

Kimberley Harding described him as a "lovely, kind and compassionate man".

She added: "Fraser was a lovely, kind and caring friend. We spent a lot of time chatting and laughing together and I'd consider him a great friend of mine. It seems so unfair. Fraser was an amazing friend to me, I genuinely can't believe he's gone."

The dark coloured vehicle – possibly a BMW, a Vauxhall or an Alfa Romeo – was captured on CCTV driving east out of Five Oaks on the A264 on Thursday (17 August).

At about 8.10pm, the green Ford Focus came off the carriageway and into woodland, ending up on its roof, killing Fraser and injuring Jez with serious injuries.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Billingshurst, sustained minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
