THIS is the Amex as you’ve never seen it before.

While it may look like one of our photos from the first game of the season against Manchester City, this is, in fact, a computer image from this year’s edition of Fifa.

This is the first time in its six-year existence that the Falmer stadium has been a venue on the hit EA Sports game, and supporters’ palms will be getting sweaty as they get their first glimpse of the Amex in Fifa form.

The presence of the stadium, which has a capacity of more than 30,000, will be seen as the icing on the cake for some fans after the Seagulls’ soared into the Premier League this year.

This is confirmation that the ground is one of the best in the country, joining an elite group of the 20 Premier League teams, as well as six former top-flight clubs in the Championship and League One to make it on to the game.

It also takes away the bragging rights of Crystal Palace fans, as the Amex now joins Selhurst Park as a Fifa venue.

Albion season ticket holder and avid gamer Alex Kazemi is keenly awaiting Fifa 18’s September 29 release date.

Alex, 34, from Brighton, said: “I really can’t wait for Fifa 18 and to see the player faces and how realistic the Brighton team will look.

“It’s going to be like Christmas Eve on September 28 waiting for the release.

“I have always tried to have the latest gaming console, from my first systems; NES, Sega Saturn, PS1.

“Now is the time to buy either the PS4 or Xbox One S, and Fifa is the sole reason for purchasing this. That and the fact our amazing American Express Community Stadium will be on it.”

Alex, a software engineer for American Express, also declared his love for the best-selling computer game. He said: “I’ve always played football games from a young age growing up, it used to be Pro Evolution Soccer that was the favourite, but Fifa very quickly took over.”

As well as good company from stadia such as Manchester United’s Old Trafford and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, the £93 million Amex joins globally-recognised football grounds from Europe’s biggest and best.

Players will be able to choose from the homes of 50 professional clubs including the Santiago Bernabeu, where the almighty Real Madrid ply their trade and Barcelona’s Nou Camp fortress.

England’s 90,000-seater national stadium, Wembley, which is Tottenham Hotspur’s makeshift home as they redevelop White Hart Lane, also remains a fixture in the gaming franchise.

Joining the Amex as a Fifa newbie is the John Smith’s Stadium, where fellow Premier League debutants Huddersfield will play host to the hottest teams in the country.

Fifa 18 is on sale from September 29.
