EARLY morning swimmers at Saltdean Lido were left disappointed after it failed to open as scheduled.
Ticket holders arrived at 7am yesterday to find the pool shut.
The Saltdean Lido Community Interest Company (CIC) said Fusion Leisure, which is operating the pool complex on its behalf, had decided to amend the opening hours.
In a statement posted on Facebook, it said: “It appears that Fusion Leisure have decided to amend the opening hours.
“They have not formally notified us and we first heard about it second hand over the weekend from staff and have been endeavouring to find out what is happening.
“We understand on Monday morning the pool was not open.
“They have not emailed season ticket holders and we do not have the customer data so currently can’t do anything about this.
“We also understand there isn’t a notice on the site with regards to changed hours either.”
The CIC said it was in discussions with Fusion and waiting to hear back as to whether the early morning swims would continue.
It was also investigating what refund processes were in place for season ticket holders.
