BUS passengers complained about delays and technical problems making it difficult to find out travel information.

Customers travelling in and around the city during rush hour yesterday morning experienced the problems.

Some reported delays on Brighton and Hove Buses services including the numbers 27, 2, and 25x.

There was a fault with one of the number 27 buses which meant it had to be swapped for another vehicle at the depot, the company said.

Passengers on the number 46 had to get off the bus because there was a problem with the windscreen wipers and this had to be fixed immediately for safety reasons.

A company spokeswoman said: "It's just what happens when you are running a big bus operation. They are just normal delays."

Some people reported having trouble loading the website and mobile app but the company said there were no technical faults and suggested this may have been to do with internet connection.

The text service which provides travel information was also not working at the same time and passengers raised concerns they were still being charged.

A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council, which funds the service, said: "The service is provided by Traveline Information Ltd based in London.

"We have contacted their head office by phone and email and they are investigating the fault.

"A user should not be charged for any response that does not contain travel information."
