CAR enthusiasts have a new event to look forward to.

Classics at Stanmer will invite classic car owners and enthusiasts to the Georgian manor house for one Sunday each month to admire the motors on display.

The free family event aims to draw in a diversity of classic vehicles from decades past and will offer car rides in exchange for a small charity donation.

Visitors to event in Stanmer Park, Brighton, will be able to enjoy the views of the house and surrounding park from the once-in-a-lifetime experience, which the venue hopes will include 60s E-types, Triumph motorcycles and modern classics.

The house will be catering the event, with freshly made food served from the kitchen, alongside tea and coffee.

Classic car owners will benefit from 20 per cent off the price of dining in the Proud Country House restaurant, while the three favourites selected by the venue will be offered a free dinner as a thank you for taking their car to the grounds.

Formerly known as Stanmer House, Proud Country House is a Grade I listed Georgian mansion at the heart of Stanmer Park. It is now owned by entrepreneur Alexander Proud, who hopes to transform it into a rosette level restaurant and five-star boutique hotel.

Classics at Stanmer comes to Proud Country House, Stanmer Park, on Sunday, October 8, from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
