A MOTORCYCLIST being chased by police was seriously injured when he crashed, minutes after failing to stop.
The 29-year-old man, from Hackney, London, crashed in High Street in Bognor Regis shortly after midnight.
He failed to stop for police in nearby Chichester Road minutes prior to crashing at 12.41am.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where he was treated for serious leg and head injuries.
No one else was injured and no other vehicles were damaged in the crash.
The IPCC has been informed as standard protocol due to the police's intervention.
Sussex and Surrey road policing officers are now appealing for witnesses.
