Liam Rosenior felt Albion were dealt a harsh lesson in defeat at Bournemouth.

The Seagulls right-back saw his side lose 2-1 having gone ahead through Solly March’s header.

He said: “I thought we were outstanding for three-quarters of the game.

“I think it’s a harsh lesson to us that any lapses of concentration and the smallest of mistakes lead to goals.

“Fair play to them, it was two bits of quality that won them the game but saying that I can’t remember them having another shot on goal.

“That performance was going back to our Championship days away from home – but we saw games out.

“We take lessons from it and take a lot of positives."

He added: “We are disappointed not to take a point.

“For three-quarters of the game, we deserved three points.

“We could have got more points this season for sure but the lads who haven’t played here are learning really quickly about what it is all about.

“The difference between the top of the Championship and the bottom half of the Premier League isn’t as big as people make out.

“We have a lot of cause for optimism moving forward.”
