A MAN will appear in court after being charged following a two hour stand off with police.
Jordan Kelly was arrested after climbing onto a roof of a building in Artex Avenue, Rustington, at 7pm on Saturday.
He is accused of throwing tiles from the roof at two police cars causing damage.
Armed officers were called after it was initially believed he was in possession of a knife.
Police spent two hours negotiating with him before he agreed to come down off the roof.
The 26-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged with affray, possession of a knife and two counts of criminal damage.
He will appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on today.
