A PEEPING Tom secretly attempted to photograph a woman changing in a cubicle at a leisure centre.

Jason Jones, 36, from Nevill Road, Hove, peeked into the next door cubicle in the mixed-sex changing rooms.

He was only rumbled when the victim’s boyfriend noticed Jones with his iPhone.

Jones admitted the incident at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Magistrates heard Jones hid in the mixed-changing changing rooms at The Triangle leisure centre in Burgess Hill on January 28 this year.

In the cubicle next to him was a woman, who had been changing after going swimming with her boyfriend.

Prosecuting, Laura Devitt, told the court: “The victim’s boyfriend noticed an iPhone and someone looking into the cubicle.

“He banged on the door and alerted leisure centre staff.

“The victim also banged on the door next to her.”

The court heard concerned staff apprehended Jones in the reception and held him until police arrived. When he was arrested he denied the offence.

On examination of the iPhone police found no pictures, as they were either not taken or deleted before they it was seized.

A video on his phone, dating back to May 1 2016 , showed a young girl being filmed in the changing rooms of the Prince Regent leisure centre in Church Street, Brighton.

He was rearrested for the offence and his laptop was seized. Officers found 360 extreme pornographic images portraying men and women having sex with animals.

Jones, who changed his name by deed poll from Peter Antolik, pleaded guilty to attempted voyeurism, voyeurism, making an indecent photograph of a child and possessing extreme pornography portraying an act of intercourse with an animal.

Chairman of magistrates Gary Gates sent the case to crown court for sentencing.

Magistrate Gates said: “We are not able to sentence this in court as the matters are so serious.

“You will be going to Lewes Crown Court to be sentenced for the offences you pleaded guilty to.

“You have pleaded guilty to a sexual offence and must visit a police station within three days to give them your details.

“You must notify them if you stay at an address where anyone under 18 lives.”

He must reappear at Lewes Crown Court on October 19.
